Now that would be a money maker. If your period is heavy some people feel if you stay off your feet then the flow will lessen. Birth control pills are sometimes used to regulate your period and othertimes if the flow becomes thick and heavy the Dr. might suggest a D&C. but other than that???? menopause

Every woman is different, but I know when I was on the pill, mine were lighter. Exercising regularly and eating healthy might also help, as well as getting a good night's rest and keeping your stress level down.

certain methods of birth control and of course an eating disorder like anorexia will make them lighter..I suggest u avoid the latter....u also may want to get checked for fibroids which can cause heavy periods.

I went on a special diet in support of my son who had to be gluten free.
After cutting all gluten out of my diet, my period pretty much halved itself and came exactly on schedule - which had previously never happened to me.
It was like a small miracle. How much nicer life became when I no longer had to worry about leaking. Actually, it's so manageable now that I've changed to using cotton strips rather than those plastic pads that always seemed so gross and full of chemicals - but I had to use them because I was so heavy.
I'm so glad to have found this out! It's been five years now (I found this out when I was 35). I only wish someone had told me sooner!
Here's more info. about gs and great people you can ask about it. http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=152
Kind regards,
Kim

There's some new prescription drug, but I don't know what it's called. Also, regularly practicing yoga is supposed to help.
