I'm trying to decide whether to wear business casual, dress shirt and tie, or a suit. I've never been to a show like this before and don't want to underdress, but also don't want to overdress either.

You could always wear a suit. You'll look smart and well put together. There will be many me wearing suits. If that's to dressy for you, wear slacks and a dress shirt....maybe a sportcoat or a leather jacket. You'll look cool and put together. Pretty much, don't stress about it. You'll see many wearing jeans, etc....as though they were going to some sporting event. Have fun! I hear the show is great!

Are you going to a matinee or an evening showing. If it's an afternoon showing you can go more semi casual. Nice pressed slacks, dress shoes, a simple button down shirt with a sweater over it would look fine. Maybe add a tie under the sweater to dress up more. If it's an even show, definitely go more dressed up, like business casual. Nice slacks, button down shirt, tie and jacket. Hope this helps, good luck and have fun at the show, it's a great one!

I agree with the answers thus far. most important thing- dress confidently. dont wear something you will be too uncomfortable in- you will be sitting for about 2 hours, afterall. Its not so much you do wear, as much as what you dont. Dont wear tennis shoes, at least not the same ones youd play football in with the boys. Other than that, from the options you provided us with, I'd say bsiness casual if it's a matinee, otherwise dress shirt and tie or sportcoat/blazer would be perfectly acceptable. Aslo- if youre going with a date, be sure to ask what she/he's wearing. Not necessarily so you can coordinate, but so you can make sure you aren't over or under doing it compared to them... good luck and have fun!

You can never go wrong with a pair of black pants, a nice shirt and a jacket (white shirts are very formal, I'd wear a nice blue one or whatever makes you comfortable). Take some money with you. There will probably be some mementos you can buy. And if you're taking a date, and she's in need of a warm jacket, offer yours to her on your way back from the car.
Enjoy the show :-)

It depends on if it's community theater or not. If it's community theater then most likely casual. If not then a nice pair of slacks, a nice button down shirt and a nice blazer will work. If you're into wearing ties, then wear a tie.

A nice pair of slacks, dress shirt, sports jacket, and a nice pair of shoes should....however a suit is nice if you're going out to dinner as well.

ok, but plz say should i wear, not should i dress because you are a guy, not a girl unless you really want to wear a dress in the theatre show or is this just a question or a question that is asked from a friend?

for a sec, i though that it was really a gay questio0n, no offensive. WOW, i am just like Simon Cowell.
