9 weeks is a little old for colic. Usually it begins around 3 weeks of age. However, I could be wrong! Allergies can begin at any time in life, so possibly he is allergic to something. Is he breast or formula fed? If you're breastfeeding, it could be something you're eating that is not agreeing with his little tummy. If it's formula, he could have developed an allergy or an intolerance to it. Have you switched formulas recently? Either way, he still could have developed an intolerance to his usual formula. Definitely schedule an appointment with your pediatrician as soon as possible to rule out any tummy issues (such as acid reflux or an allergy). My daughter had colic for 5 1/2 months. It was awful. The poor child screamed and cried from about 6:30 pm until 1 am every single night. I was working full-time and breastfeeding. I eliminated all sources of milk, whey, etc. from my diet. I used a very expensive formula for daycare (I was pumping half and putting the rest in formula) that was supposedly hypoallergenic (Alimentum). This helped somewhat. How long did your son cry for after 7:30? Did he cry tonight? If he didn't do it again tonight, then it was probably something he drank yesterday and I wouldn't worry about it now. If he is still crying at night, then something is probably bothering him. When my daughter screamed and screamed, I used the Baby Bjorn a LOT. She loved being attached to me. I would do dishes, grade papers, and walk around the house doing stuff and she liked to bounce around. That helped a lot. Rocking her also helped. Good luck and I hope your son is okay!

Oh honey I hope it is not colic but if it is I might be able to help. Check diaper and hunger and for signs of illness before anything else.
Both of my kids were colicky and these are some tricks we used. 1Give the baby to daddy and let him sing will the baby is laying on his chest with the babys head near his throat. The vibrations from the singing sometimes soothes . 2.Put the baby in his car seat and set him on top of the dryer with it running. Same reason vibration. 3 lay baby across both knees face dowm with arms and legs dangleing support his head with your hand and rock legs side to side. 4. (this one is stranger but works) crush a peppermint candy add to 1 ounce of warm water and shake well. give the baby a few sips. Peppermint will soothe tummy cramps and break up gas bubbles making baby fart and burp. 5. go for a ride in the car 6. if breast fed try a small bottle of formula (sometimes in a growth spurt babies will empty the breast and still be hungry and a subpliment will help) 7. Simethicone drops (stop gas pains) 8. take a shower with baby keeping water going on babys back as you hold him.(the water sound and feel sometimes soothe) 9.bicycle baby's legs to help get gas out 10. rub tummy with babyoil in a counterclock wise circle to help digestion. 11. call grandma to come help( sometimes a different person who is not stressed out by a crying baby will calm the baby . 12. This one sound cruel but sometimes it works lay baby in his crib and let him cry. Sometimes if too much has went on that day babys will cry from being overly stimulated and whatever we try makes it worse and they need a few minutes to cry it out and then calm down. I know this one is hard I would often sit outside my sons room and cry myself after he had been crying for hours. 13. make anappointment with doctor in case he is sick
Hope some of these help. contact me if you have any questions regarding any hints or about how to survive colic

Try a car ride, my son had a horrible case of colic, a car ride usually put him to sleep, if not the it might sound weird but turn on a vaccume cleaner, for some reason the sound of the usually calms down a colicky baby.
Sometingh else my Dr. told me to try was fennel tea, i had never heard of it, but yyou can buy it at a health food store, it did seem to help some.

Don't let him just cry unattened the baby is to little.... My daughter was the same way.. I wrapped her in a warm recieving blanket and turned the dryer on and sat he right on it in my arms so she wouldn't fall off, that would work after awhile, she would be sound asleep and sometimes so would I. The heat from the dryer along with the sound, she just couldn't fight it.. Also, I used gas drops for babies, and eventually changed her formula. I found out she was allergic to it. Good luck. My daughter is just turning 6 months.
Some good adivce I was given. Stay calm and remember they grow up way to quick. :0)

Have you tried swaddling him in a warm blanket? Wrap him up nice and snug and rock or bounce him gently. A pacifier may help (I swore I'd never use one, but now I'd go crazy without binky). If he is shreiking, something may be hurting. You may want to call your pediatrician and let him or her hear the baby's cries over the phone. Believe it or not, some good ones can tell by the cries whether you should take him in.

Rock him gently in your arms. Also play some soothing music. I am afraid to tell you that your son has developed what I call baby's nights and days. His nights is usually your day. Where he sleeps all day and wakes up at his day, which is when your ready to go to sleep. He also maybe hot. Sometimes laying him on your chest may help. Make sure there are pillows all around incase he rolls.

He is so young maybe he just wants to be close to you. Hold him, rock him and sing to him. What about a pacifier. Sucking comforts babies. Also when my baby would cry like that he had gas. Gas drops helped. I forget the name of the drops but it is safe for newborns. There are other ways to help with gas but the drops worked for my baby. Hope this helps.

Sounds like he had gas (colic) You can go to your local pharmacy and but Mylicon drops to help relieve the gas pain and pressure and see if that works, it is completely safe to give to a baby. If that doesn't work and he continues to be fussy alot..talk to your doctor. But I guarantee you this is what it is.

My mother swears by running the vacuum or place the baby in the car seat & run the dryer, put the baby in the seat on the dryer. The vibrations will relax the baby.
