Ok, but not in particular order.
1. Miami - I know their bench is old, but they're still good. Kapono is a good shooter. Payton still has that PG killer instinct. Walker could shoot the ball. And Eddie Jones is useful in situations too. Zoe could still defend people like he did 5 years ago.
2. Dallas - They've got plenty of good players who can fill roles. Devean George is a good defender while Stackhouse is an explosive scorer. Diop, although limited offensively, could block shots and defend players like Duncan and Brand. Austin Croshere plays good defense and shoots well too.
3. Suns - As long as Steve Nash is on the court, almost any one on the Suns bench could be the star on a given night. Barbosa, Banks, Kurt Thomas, Jalen Rose and James Jones are all scorers who fit well in the run-and-gun system of D'Antoni.
4. Spurs - Their bench hasn't been deep this year, but still good. Ginobili has been there now, so that gives them an edge. Horry, Finley and Barry are all veterans who do not make too much mistakes. Vaughn is a good defender, Bonner is good at hustle plays and Udrih could shoot very well from the stripe.
5. Bulls - Ben Gordon and Chris Duhon are two very good guards. Andres Nocioni could hit that long three and rookie Tyrus Thomas is very good at rejections.
That's all I could think of.

The SPURS have the deepest bench in the NBA and has been for the past few years. The spurs bench averages 52.3 points per game from bench players. This is actually more that 50 % of what the Spurs scoring average is.They are just amazing.
2 Mavs

all i got to say, is that it is about time someone asked this question so people can debate on it...
Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks and Pheonix Suns are the teams with the deepest benches...
But as far as top 5 deep benches... you gotta go with the Chicago Bulls first, Pheonix, San Antonio, Golden State, and Memphis as the 5th.
Having a deep bench basically means how many players come into the rotation per game... teams like Detroit and Dallas only work with a 7-8 man rotation...
..where teams like Bulls, Warriors, Suns, San Antonio, the entire bench has normally played mid way through the 3rd quarter... you dont have to necessarily have a winning record to have a deep bench... just how many players are capable of starting or competing at the high level of the starters

It breaks down like this:
(1) The Mavericks: this team has a scorer (Stackhouse), a Defender (Diop), a streaky player (croshere), and a serious 3 point threat (George).
(2) The Suns: Barbosa- on the bench. Enough said. Also, James Jones can light it up from beyond the arc any given night.
(3) The Golden State Warriors: Mark my words, Matt Barnes could be a star on another team. Also, Pietris and Ellis are both substantial players, but are sometimes used on the bench because of the overflow at the G-F spots.
(4) The Detroit Pistons: McDyess can be a beast, and Delfino is a great source for quick points.
AND...
(5) The Los Angeles Lakers: My dark horse. But seriously, Vujacic, Farmar, Bynum, Evans, and Cook can each give you at least 10 points any given night... it's just they're too inconsistent to be considered elite, but they are deep.

its hard to answer this question cause when it comes to depth, some teams may only use 8 players. others will use a full 12. in my analysis, ive listed the second 5 to come in and contribute. the second unit of these teams i believe are capable of being a starting line up - they may not win many games but they can compete at least:
Dallas - Harris, Stackhouse, Diop, Croshere, George
Golden State - Jasikevicius, Ellis, Barnes, Azubuike, Foyle
Miami - Payton, Wright, Posey, Mourning, Walker
NY - Francis, Robinson, Lee, Balkman ,Frye
SA - Ginobili, Finley, Horry, Ely, Udrih
i think the above teams would compete pretty well against some teams. i know some players on this list might be starting at the moment, but thats only because of injurys. normally these players are off the bench (except Ginobli, he should be starting)

Having a deep team means you have guys NOT getting a lot of minutes, that still come in and contribute. The deepest teams are:
1. Dallas
2. Phoenix
3. San Antonio
4. Detroit
5. Houston
It's no surprise that these are the teams with a legitimate shot at winning a title.

Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio. Both have good scorers and centers in their benches. The Suns depend on Barbosa, Jones, and Thomas fromt he bench. San Antonio depends on Ginobli and Barry for scoring and Robertio as their backup for Duncan.
