When the television ads first came out, Carl's Jr. was promoting the fact that their buger is just as good as burgers that cost $6 and more in fancier restaurants.

It has never been priced at $6 and that was the whole point.

As a point of interest, have you ever heard of Hardee's? It's what they call Carls Junior's in the south (like South Carolina, Georgia, etc.). I'm not sure why but check out the link below.

I was surprised when I moved from Oregon to South Carolina and saw the same fast food joints, same logos and a different name!

"Six Dollar Burger" - When you go into a restaurant and have a big burger, you would end up paying about six bucks for it.

Carl's Jr has the same "Six Dollar Burger" for about 4 bucks. in.

Why would someone want to pay more, when they can have the same exact thing for less?

Marketing baby! It's a way to lure people in.

I think it's because it tastes good enough to be that expensive. Blew my mind when I went into a Carl's Jr for that "Six dollar burger". It's not there.
