why did nicole die and how?

She died of tuberculous, a disease very common at that time.

She had a disease I believe.
Don't remember what kind, but I think she was spitting up blood and passing out.
But for some reason I don't remember the part when she actually dies. I just remember her becoming very ill and passing out all the time and finding blood in her napkin when she coughed and such.

Nicole's character had a disease - maybe T.B. probably contracted due to her line of work.

Tuberculosis or "consumption", which is why she was coughing up blood. It felled Doc Holiday as well
