It has everything that Shakespeare has (I have extensive experiance of both and it's a fair comparison) and it seems to make nutters out of all of us at one time or another. It is after all a passionate game, on and off the pitch. But take it TOO seriously? For any American folks I'm talking about "soccer".

YaYa. We have Eagles and Saints in English soccer, though the Saints aren't very well behaved and the Eagles aren't flying to high at the moment.

had the in-laws round for spurs v west ham, they are all west ham fans, i was the lone yid. and whilst i dont usually have much to say to them, i took the opportunity, with both hands, to get half cut and jump around my living room taunting the basta*ds.

My nephew wants me to take him too a match but I am a bit dubious about taking him in case he gets hurt by a flying bottle or some other item thrown by some A******E some of my mates turn into total idiots shouting at the tele and similar pathetic behaviour yes people do take it far too seriously

funny question i think so! I'm a saints fan and when they played the eagles in the playoffs because the score was so close i was running around and sweating like a pig! when the saints played the bears in the playoffs because they lost i was "depressed" for a while and wouldn't stop crying!!!!
true fans r drama queens when they watch football!!!!!!

it calls itself the beautiful game!
of course it takes itself too seriously...
in truth it is beautiful or at least can be when it's not being a wench!
but drama queens? it depends on your level of involvement.
i laugh at the american part since just like most americans with shakespeare, we usually just don't get it with either

i have to say yes and i am a footballer but i am not a drama queen.
so if you want to play football without becoming a drama queen play another sport on a different day as well like me i do rugby so it keeps me in tip top condition!!!!!
Good luck mate

this is so ubertrue. about football/soccer/ i dunno. 'foccer'???
i tend to think no matter how crazy about basketball or football or baseball americans are they can never beat the insanity and drama queen-ness and addiction/obsession of worldwide foccer fans.
its just not the same!!!
come on its foccer. there is no such thing as "TOO seriously" or "too crazy"...
