Sounds like she is either with you for the money or that you're a pushover. It's time to say no and get a backbone.

you'll in many circumstances get more advantageous powerful specs on a workstation over a Mac for an same fee. consequently, i in my opinion ought to flow with a workstation. Apple pcs are astounding yet they're going to surely wreck the commercial corporation. I definitely have had 2 HP laptops crap out on me, so i do no longer advise procuring their products. Their performance should be strong yet do not position self belief in them lasting very lengthy (in accordance with my journey). I definitely have had 2 Dell pcs and they have been very strong. even if, Dell often times has proprietary parts that signifies that some elements won't be able to really be upgraded. My previous Dell had a proprietary motherboard, and that i finished up procuring an entire new workstation because i ought to no longer improve it.

I think I'd tell her that if she can find that much money she is willing to take out of the budget, that you are willing to consider it.

If she can find that in her make-up, hair and clothes fund that she is willing to give up, then she is free to spend it on the laptops.

They way you say this, I am lead to believe the kids are NOT yours.

If that is the case, let her spend her mad money on the kids and not expect you to support her children to that level.

Of course, the kids could get jobs and earn money for their own laptops. That's what I had to do when I was a kid and wanted something, I worked for it.

put your foot down now or your going to raise kids that think money grows on trees. point out that u have just given them a pc and that was expencive enough point out that it has the net and word and they can load games on it and also point out that it teaches the most important lesson of all sharing . if you back down now they will walk all over you and the next thing they will ask for is a 16 thousand $ car each don't laugh it happened to my dad his daughter my step sister actually thought she could get one from him coz he has been giving into her since she was 4yrs old . little cow gets what ever she wants . so be strong and place your feet firmly on the ground and say NO!

tell her NO the home PC is fine for kids; they don't need their own laptops, there is too much bad stuff out there that can't be monitored if they have there own. Make sure you have parental controls on the home PC too and make sure it is in a common room, not one of their bedrooms.

If you are the main bread winner explain the financial issues and the fact that the new home PC is functional. Just say no, if she really loves you she will understand the rational nature of your explanation. If not you might be in for trouble with this relationship

Simple mathematics.

Tell her NO and under NO circumstances are you going to change your mind about this issue.

They already have a new PC at home thats enough.

Besides if you do buy the kiddies a new laptop each they are going to turn into spoilt little bees.

Do you want that???

Tell her that's not being fiscally responsible and there's no reason why everyone has to have their own pc's. Are they your kids or hers? If they are hers and she is demanding you buy them alot of expensive and unreasonable gifts then i would start to question her motives. If they are your kids then just tell her you don't think it's necessary and it might not be teaching them the right kind of values.

kids and laptops don/t mix. they drop them, spill Kool-aid on them and you are out 2000 bucks. TYhe desktop is fine, but, put it in a public area of your house where you can watch over them while they are on it, or turn off the internet. No child should be online unsupervised. period. There are to many slimeballs out there.
