Dan Marino will still be in the top 5. Remember, Marino hung around alot longer than he should have also to get those same records. I remember when Marino had more padding on him then the walls at an insane asylum. He was so beat up that he could not even be mobile in the pocket anymore. At least Favre can still move around and buy some time. He also can throw the deep ball, something Marino lost in the early-90's. Also, Favre delivered one title and two Super Bowl appearances. Marino delivered one appearance and a bunch of should haves. Forget the statistics, anybody can hang on forever and get those. My top five are:
1. Joe Montana
2. John Elway
3. Terry Bradshaw
4. Johnny Unitas
5. Otto Graham

2nd to Favre, and honestly, anyone who says otherwise has no true concept of football and/or is hanging to some bit of misplaced nostalgia.
Favre will not only break his records (in one less season mind you, and two less seasons as a starter), he also has the more notable consecutive starting streak.
Favre will also end up with a higher career qb rating.
Favre won a Superbowl... nuff said.
#1 Favre
#2 Marino
#3 Elway
Brady and Manning could both end up in the top 5.

Still Top 5. Always will be. Who cares if Farve gets the records? Most think Farve should hang it up anyway, and some(myself included), think he is hanging on just to GET the records. Montana and Marino will remain two of the best QBs of my lifetime, one has the rings and the other doesn't, both EARNED their places though.

Marino is second. favre is going to break the records and he has won a superbowl and has been to a second. ( despite what everyone says he is not coming back to break records he is coming back because he loves the game and can't leave the packers with Fricken Aarron Rodgers.) But Marino is a very close second.
1 Favre
2 Marino
3 Bradey ( by the time is career is finished.)

Dan Marino is the greatest QB in the history of the game. Regardless if Favre breaks the records, Favre is only staying to break them, plus Favre has way too many interceptions in his career. Marino is and will always be the best and definetely better than Favre.

skillwise and statwise he's top 3 at a minimum but winning is important regardless of how we blame it on the talent or lack of it around him, so I doubt most followers/historians of the game will rate him higher than top 10, ecspecially after Brady, Manning, and some others finish thier careers.
my top 3 now: 1. Elway
2. Favre
3. Montana
My top 3 10 yrs from now: 1. Elway/Manning (depends on if Payton wins multiple titles or not)
3. Favre

marino is way over-rated. he never won anything and him + his "dad" don shula got caught up in stats over trying to win big games.he was a very talented passer but a poor quarterback + leader.
#1 montana
#2 unitas
# 3 elway
#4 manning
#5 favre

Marino was the youngest QB to play in a superbowl....needless to say he didn't win it. He's great don't get me wrong, but there are better. Do I hear a vote for Sid Luckman?
