Well, being one of four girls the best way our parents stopped us from killing each other was by letting us solve our own battles and come to a resolution to the problem ourselves, because usually when a parent sides with one rather than the other the other child may feel rejected or neglected and if this happens constantly the feeling sinks in. Just let them know that it bothers you when they fight and allow them to overcome the fight themselves.

I sympathise with you. I have 3 teenaged girls and they are always having a go at one another. Wish I could give you some good advise but I don't have any except that they will grow out of it.

Whew, that's a lotta hormones in one house!!
You need to set firm rules about not using each other's things w/o asking and about not yelling and about not saying mean things. I know that's easier said than done. What I do with my two is to stop things before it gets too far. For instance, yesterday my daughter yelled from the laundry room for my son to come get his clothes out of the washer so she could put hers in. He couldn't quite hear her so asked me what she had said. I told him, and he got up to go put his clothes in the dryer. In the meantime she hadn't heard from him so she yelled her request again, but by now he was much closer to the laundry room, so in an irritated tone of voice he said, " I HEARD YOU!" I went out and told him [nicely but firmly] that he should not have used that irritated voice; she repeated herself because he had not answered so she had no way of knowing that he'd heard her. He then went in and spoke kindly to her. Now...if I had ignored that little thing, then she would have been crabby with him when he got in there, and a minor argument would have ensued, setting the stage for some disharmony that would probably have lasted all afternoon, because they'd both have been upset with each other. I do allow a very small amt of arguing-type discussion between them, but not much, because it just becomes a matter of wills; my son is stronger-willed, and my daughter will give in to keep from getting in trouble, which is not healthy for either of them, so if things get to be just a little too much, then they both get a mild reprimand. Very very occasionally I take away a privilege because they are not getting along, but not often. We have just set the stage to be polite in our house. I do not yell or say rude things, and they are not allowed to.

Lock them in a padded room and remove anything that could be used as weapons. Sit back and wait.
