If Lamarck's hypothesis of species modification were true, the children of a person who developed large muscles by lifting weights would be born with:
a. smaller-than-average muscles
b. normal-sized muscles
c. normal-sized muscles that would become larger only if the children also lifted weights.
d. larger-than-normal muscles.

D, larger than normal muscles.

Lamarck said that whatever a parent obtained in his/her life would be passed on to the child. Take giraffes. He thought that each generation stretched out their necks a little more, and we ended up with long necked giraffes.

If Lamarck's theory were true, we would have some very buff people walking around from generations of weight lifting. :)

A is just a ridiculous answer. It even goes against common sense.
B and C are true in real life, but in real life we're going by Darwin, not Lamarck. Darwin said only genes are passed on, no musculature.

Hi. I would say C, the same as the parent. The child would inherit the same tendency (no pun) to develop larger muscles using the same methods.
