I like Kenny, but I LOVE GEORGE!! Without a doubt George is the best!!! George has been around for 25+ years and still going strong!!!!! He actually just celebrated his 20th "anniversary" of performing at the Houston Rodeo, which is the WORLD'S LARGEST RODEO! He has had at least one single hit the TOP 10 every year since his debut in 1981! He's the leader for Number One Country singles! He's been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame!

In Strait's more than twenty-five years of recording, all of which have been spent with MCA Records, he has garnered 54 number 1 songs on all charts (including Radio and Records and the now-defunct Gavin Report charts). His 42 Billboard country #1's have set a record, two more than previous record-holder Conway Twitty.

Strait has sold more than 62 million recordings and his certifications from the RIAA include 13 multi-platinum, 32 platinum and 35 gold albums. His overall certification numbers are third of all musicians, behind Elvis Presley and The Beatles.

Strait has won 16 CMA Awards, including consecutive entertainer of the year honors in 1989 and 1990, and holds the career record for CMA nominations with seventy-three. Strait was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006. Strait performed his #1 hit "Give it Away" right before accepting his replica Hall of Fame plaque at the 40th CMA Awards. He was only the second artist (after Eddy Arnold in 1966) to be inducted into the Hall of Fame while still actively recording and producing #1 hits.

Strait remains one of the most played artists on US radio.

OMG, great question. I have noticed Kenny sounds a lot like George recently. I have been a fan of both for a long time. I am going to have to say as of today Kenny is better, but back in his day, George was awesome and still is. Kenny has so many fans and does so much touring and that makes him so popular. All the teenagers really like him but George is definitely better looking! I love the part in that song "Give it Away" where he goes "hnnn" or whatever. Every time I hear that, I think, gosh, what I could do to him! I love Kenny's song "Sherry's Living in Paradise" well, only cause Sherrie is my first name : )

George Strait is better because he's King George. Country music has changed so much in the last 15 years, he hasn't changed a bit, and he's still churning out #1 hits. Kenny's good too, though it seems he's the originator of the "country music meets the Beach Boys" concept.

George has been arund longer and is the king. He is my mom's favorite. I LOVE Kenny Chesney! He is 5'6 39 years old on March 26, and is SINGLE! If you look at the list of top countrry stars, it goes:
1.George Strait
2.Kenny Chesney (my future husband)
3.Tim McGraw

They all have different voices. That is why they sing with Jmmy Buffet, Alan Jackson, and more like Tracy Lawrence in songs like "Find out who your friends are" or "Hey Good looking".
