I think this is a false dichotomy. Emotional fidelity is possible with either monogamy or an open relationship.
But I don't know of anyone who's willing to commit and follow through with sexual monogamy without emotional fidelity mixed in with it.
Personally, I look for my partner to be my best friend, too. And I'm always monogamous.

I'd rather not be in a relationship than choose between those two things. I need both emotional fidelity AND sexual monogamy. How can you have emotional fidelity without sexual monogamy, since to have sex with someone other than me would obviously hurt me, they go hand in hand. It would be better to me to just be alone. I think I just answered my own (previous) question.

Emotional Fidelity. When some cheats on you emotionally it is so much more personal. Sex can be just sex but when emotions get put into play it's a whole new ball game.

good question if i really had to choose i'd say emotional fidelity because to me emotion is more important. (i think most women will answer like that)
but i would generally rather be alone than have to decide

i'm extra mushy with telling them that i'm no longer fascinated. as quickly as I get rejected, I extremely have the ill mindset that makes me much extra fascinated in them then. Rejection is relatively the terrific aphrodisiac to me.
