My surround sound system came with a cord that at one side it connects to the headphones jack of any item (laptop, computer, mp3 player, cd player, etc.) and then the other into another headphone jack on the front of the sound system but it is only a few inches long, is there a place online that I can buy a longer version of this so that I can hook my new computer up to my surround sound system so I don't have to buy computer speakers?

Absolutely. Just go in to any good electronics store and bring your small cable. Ask anyone there for that cable in X feet/meters.

Probably just a 1/8" patch cable, you can buy those at any electronics store.
