Kissers can be a bit on the rowdy side. I would say that they would be ok with some of the larger tetras, like Congos and bleeding hearts, but I would watch him very closely with smaller fishes like cardinals or guppies. Being that a CAE gets arather large and mean himself, those should be fine together.

Best bet would be to get another gourami of the opposite sex
Males have long pointed fin and females fin is rounded
They will probably eat guppies, as they are a somewhat aggressive fish. Algae eater is should be fine
not sure about the tetra. never had one

Kissing gourami's should be fine with smaller tankmates ... even the size of tetras. Good site to check out: www.fishlore.com

I have a gourami too. A worker at a pet place, says that they can be with any other fish about the same size. Dont put anything smaller than it with it though, mine ate a lot of my other fish that were smaller than it was.

Gouramis are generally peaceful but they can get aggressive. They will do with other peaceful fish, but I suggest you should get one more gourami before placing him alone in a tank of different species.
