well i do have to agree that the harry potter series are some of my favorite books; but my absolute all time favorite books are written by Jean M. Auel..... the first one is called Clan of the Cavebear.... i think a lot of you have probably read this in school... well in case you didnt know there are 4 books that come after that one. Im waiting for the final book in the series to come out. They are called the Earth Children Series I believe. I absolutely love the main character thruout the series. Her name is Ayla.... if i ever have a daughter that is what her first name will be. She is just such an amazing character i can only hope my child will be as strong, brilliant, courageous, and amazing as her

For someone who reads alot, you would think this was an easy question to answer. Let me tell you, it isn't. I read lots of types of books and it is so hard to choose a favorite. Some books I really enjoy are:
Harry Potter series. J. K. Rowling.
The Inheritance Trilogy. Christopher Paolini.
The Bartimaeus Trilogy. Jonathan Stroud.
The Twilight series. Stephanie Meyer.
The Hermux Tantamoq books. Michael Hoye.
The Book Thief. Markus Zusak.
Artemis Fowl. Eoin Colfer.
His Dark Materials Trilogy. Phillup Pullman.
I could go on forever, but that would become quite tedious and dull, wouldn't it? So I'll leave it at that.

Your age extremely relative in determining what you like to read. Harry Potter is considered a "kids'" series, though I digress, that's more marketing on Scholastic's part than anything.
My favorite book is Shibumi by the late Rodney Whitaker (Trevanian). My favorite series of books is John Le Carre's books with George Smiley and the Circus (MI5-6, Cold War mythology). As far as spy novels go, nobody does it better than Le Carre.

If you are after a really 'chunky' read, then the two best series I would recommend are the Dune series by Frank Herbert (don't bother with the stuff written by his son under the Dune banner). And the Thomas Covenent series (six books in total)
by Stephen Donaldson.
Happy reading
