it's prescibed for anxiety/depression. Yes, it is dangerous. Alot of people have become dependent on it and when trying to take themselves off of it can lead to suicidal thoughts. It messes with your brain chemistry and that's not something you want to take lightly. If this has worked for you, get yoursel to a doctor and have him evaluate you. Then maybe he would agree to put you on it.

I can tell you that anyone that would tell you to take a drug w/o a Rx is not a real friend. Prozac is used for depression among other things and it has very bad side effects. Do not get me wrong it is a great drug and works very well but the dosage MUST be monitored. It can cause liver failure ( DEATH!!!) It can cause muscle weakness that can cause the heart to stop ( DEATH) ! Holy Cow, go to the Dr. Prozac is not that expensive if you have insurance. If not your Dr. can fill out some paperwork on your behalf and get the maker of your Rx to donate the meds.

Prozac is prescribed for depression by a Dr. I don't think it's wise to take without a prescription from your Dr. They will be able to give you the antidepressant that is best suited to you and your symptoms. There are many different antidepressants out there. See your family Dr and talk to him/her about your symptoms. it is never a good idea to take someone else's prescribed medication. You may be affected by side effects, etc.

Need you really ask? Isn't it blatantly obvious that it is dangerous? Most people avoid taking medication unless it is absolutely necessary! Not because their friends tell them to! Prescription medications are called prescription medications FOR A REASON. You need to be diagnosed by a health professional, not your friends!

Prozac like ANY medication has side effects. Ranging from common less serious side effects, to rare but serious side effects. You should never take medication with out a prescription from a doctor.

I would stop taking it straight away and seek help from a medical PROFESSIONAL (someone who has a MEDICAL qualification).

It is prescribed for depression but I want to caution you to NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATION WITHOUT MEDICAL ADVICE! You may have a medical condition that may interfere with the medication, you may have an allergy that could interfere with it, the doseage may not be right for you, it may interfere with another medication you are on (have you not recently read the article on Anna Nicole Smiths son for example, and the mixture of meds he took)?
When you take antidepressants, SSRI's, and other medications such as these, you need to be under direct supervision of a MD. You should NEVER take them from someone else. When stopping some of these medications, there can be some SEVERE side effects. You need to talk with your DR. immediately.

Yes, it is dangerous! (I think you know that.) You never, ever take any prescribed drugs without a prescription that was formulated especially for you.
From what I understant, that particular drug is usually meant to treat anxiety, depression, and mood swings. Stop taking it right now, you hear? Go see your own doctor.

it's prescribed for depression. You need to have a doctor to monitor your reactions to the medication though. Even penicillin can be dangerous. Regards and be careful.

Prozac is for people who don't like to hang on to their money. If you are depressed then find the source and fix it. It can be fixed with a little common sense, worthy human interaction, a healthy diet and adequate excercize.
