We are both very good writers, we know all the things and all the time you must go through to see if this can happen and neither of us are going to give up...how likely would it be for us to get taken seriously?

Your chances of making it big in the world of writers as teens START OUT very slim, I am sorry to say. There is a great deal of competition out there, including experienced adults who have gone through college and writing classes. It isn't however impossible.

It's good that you two believe you are good writers. Writing takes alot of self-esteem and determination as well as a love for it. You can raise your chanced by these suggestions:

Keep writing. You don't absolutely HAVE to publish at 13-15. You've got a whole life ahead of you. Start now and get the skeleton of the novel finished. Once that is complete, revise the story and ruthelessly edit it. Editing can take as long as you wish, and you'll find it more motivating when you know you already have an ending set out for your novel.

Does you story make sense? Do you tend to go off on different subjects? Dialogue? Is your grammar correct? U dont wanna submit reely bad stuff 2 a publisher.

Why does your story deserve to be published? It needs to be well written of course, but also well thought out. Plots can take years to develop. make sure all loose ends are tied up at the end. Also, because it is fiction, make sure the reader understands what you are talking about.

DO NOT LET ANYONE READ IT!! Although you may think that once it is down on paper it is safe, it isn't. Someone can just waltz up and steal your plot and write it themselves! If you wish for others to edit it, ask trustworthy people to read it, like your parents or close friends.

I highly suggest a twist at the end. Something that the reader won't expect. Amaze them with your brilliance! "How did they think of that? Wow, I wish I had thought of that!" Sound familiar?

Just about everything your write has to be important to the story. Don't write a page about the way your coffee tastes... don't even write half a page about it. Of course, detail is important to give the reader imagery and "experience" the story.

In response to your question: YES it can happen. YES you can get published if you don't give up and you work on it through your life. Don't worry how it sounds now; you will develop your writing skills as you get older. Then you will be able to apply these newly found skills to the plot you created as 13 years old. Also, do not delete anything. You must save all of your work. Again, plots are precious. You can't be taught imagination. You can learn the basics of writing however.

So continue your dream and continue to write. If getting published means so much to you and your friend, you WILL end up getting published. Good Luck with the writing!!

So you want to get published...So you've been writing for a long time, edited it for what seems like thousands of years...So you think that what you have is publishable. Well...
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

First off, look for publishing companies who have published recently. They must also be reputable. Make sure that they're sold good books that are popular or at least heard of. Also, make sure they publish you genre and length of novels.

Research the standards for what the company wants you to submit. Then, when you send your story, make sure it's not your only copy. Inclue an SASE (self-adressed-stamped-envalope) if you want a faster response. Remember however that 1.) fast does not equal a day, not even a week. It can take months to get a response. 2.) you aren't published yet.

Chances are, you'll end up getting a rejection letter. Many fameous authors have gotten these. Don't think of it as an "you can't write, haha" letter. The editors are informing you that your material doesn't quite reach thier standards.

Then you edit again, and sent it off again.

And then...the news...you...are...PUBLISHED??
That's right, go celebrate. Party 'till you drop. You deserve it.

The remaining process includes your rights and such. This is very long and I wouldn't want to mess you up for life with a simple typo. Visit you library and check out books about getting published. I suggest "How to Write a Damn Good Novel". It's amazing!!

Again, good luck!!

If you're good, you'll be taken seriously. Work on your story, but also work on the business end. Have your parents help you look for an agent and send out query letters. Do research on submission guidelines and formats. Just remember, even if you're good, it can take years and years to find the right combination of story, agent, publisher, etc., so don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen soon. Happy writing!

It is feasible. I'm a fifteen 12 months ancient who has a self-released cookbook that's a countrywide name at Chapters (Canadian similar of Barnes and Nobles). You have a few choices relating to publishing your e-book: -Published by means of a writer. This is the conventional alternative. In order to get released by means of a writer, you're going to ought to be both a) an peculiarly well author (very infrequent) or b) any individual who is understood by means of the general public or who's writing approximately a ''sizzling'' matter. However, should you do control to get your e-book released, you're going to have significantly much less paintings to do in comparison to self-publishing (despite the fact that you're going to have got to do plenty of advertising). -Self-released. The similar of going into industry, however you would not have got to fear approximately getting authorized by means of a writer. However, it takes an funding, plenty of advertising, a central eye, and legit aid (for the enhancing, pics, and so forth.) to try this. -POD (print on call for). This could enable you to have your e-book revealed out one replica on the time and purchased mostly by means of peers and loved ones and strangers over the web.

Anything is possible and you should be taken seriously if your story is good. Get with your parents and have them help. With their backing you should be able to get a publisher to listen.

Sure it can! I think "Eragon" was published when the author was 15 and look how good it did for him. Just make sure you get a really good agent.
