I know it sounds sad and like i dont have a life. But im becoming such a big Naruto fan that im starting to copy what they do... No, i dont mean trying to do jutsus to try to blow fire out of mouth or bite my thumb for blood to summon a huge frog. I mean... Habits! Im acting wayyy more like the characters than i thought!
For example, when im thinking really hard like on a riddle or on a puzzle or for a board game, i go into the crouching position and put my hands together like SHIKAMARU!! I mean, yes he's one of my favourite characters but thats just weird... And at school, usually i dont sit in my chair (my teacher lets us do this all the time, as long as were quiet) i always crouch on my chair on crouch ontop of the desk behind me (im at the back of the classroom so nobody's view is blocked) and then people end up saying 'Jessica! Youre not a ninja!' and im like huh?
Can you relate? Please dont be rude about this, seriously! These arent bad habits. But what do you think about them?

My speech is also starting to be like some of the characters too. No, i dont say beleive it or dattebayo! But i've been saying troublesome waaayy too often (Shika's catch phrase) and whenever im trying to lecture somebody or answer intellegently in class, i always use quotes... You guessed it, from Naruto! such as 'Nothing is earned from hurrying' or something like that, cant remember it now. Or 'People cant change no matter how hard they try, a born failure will remain a failure. People are judged by thier true nature, it is the way of the world. Ultimately, we are judged by what we cannot change' yes i remember the quote totally in my head, like i said im a total Narutard. Is this getting into my head too much?

Haha, the thing is even though i sound insane... Im really a straight A student. Im learning 2 grades higher than my on my own, i already surpassed most of my classmates. Surprising huh? Ok, maybe not. But when i crouch on the desk i usually think of riddles and maybe repeat naruto episodes in my head to entertain me while the teachers lecturing about a review on division (omg i hate reviews!) i usually end up passing the test anyways.
For those who are unfamiliar, Naruto is a show >.>

By the way, i got so bored one night that i learned about 4 jutsus XD Summoning, fire style gokakyuu (grand fireball), chidori/raikiri (very simple), and dog summoning pack :P Very easy. And at school when me and my friends are playing around we usually do that, but im the one who gets the big narutard reputation since i can do ALL of those jutsus literally under 7 seconds (we timed it lol) 2 of my friends like naruto, a guy (who i find extremely annoying) and a girl (who i hardly get to talk to)

LOLOLOLOLOL. Hmm... i skimmed through most of the super long text but to answer your question on what I think... I think its cool. If it's fun, then do it. It'd be a bit weird if you're 50 doing all this but obviously you're not. You should carry lollipops with you and the next time your friends say "jessica! you're not a ninja!" you should turn around and throw a few lollipops as if they were kunais and tell them "That's what you think!!!" I know i know that's lame. w/e xD. Oh also I would suggest you to keep on acting like them then you would be able to perfect it by Anime Expo 2007 if you're going. xD

dude, i'm a naruto fan too. It's like the first show i watched and i've "been" a narutard too...ahhaha lol...anyway, i've been doing the thing that sasuke does too and i've been doing shikamaru's stance too. It's fun to imitate them and the show is awesome! You have a life and try not to do so much of those. Honestly, i think it's kind of weird but hey you can't help it if it's that addictive...You're still young and enjoy your life the way you want it. These aren't bad habits it's too much naruto. It's not bad to watch anime but at least, once in a while, try to control yourself. The sasuke thing isn't bad. I do it too even before i've seen the anime. Imagination is a good thing. You should try and make a naruto fanfiction and let your friends read it or something. Don't confuse reality from fantasy! Do something useful with our wild imagination! Have fun!

some of this sounds familiar. I too use troublesome a lot. But the pose that Sasuke does is rather common even outside the series. Are you sure you didn't do some of it before you became Naruto fan? Have you always quoted things and just now started Naruto? (quoting textbooks is quoting too right?). at least you could get a good nickname out of this: copy-ninja (Kakashi). But how did you start? did it start as a game to find there habits. did you just try to copy them? I do that sometimes but I haven't made them into a habit yet...

Ok ima be shikamaru ur advisor :D. Oky doke. I suggest u do these things at home but not at school. I would be uber imbarrassed if i was ur friend. o.O. Then again i am very addicted to naruto too. But im not the type that acts like the characters. I get a bit of feeling after i watch a good episode. Im just like what will happen next :D. why dont you act more like kakashi sensei. :D everyone likes kakashi :DDDDDDD. Boy those kids at school r mean. Kik their buts with some ninja tastic moves. Ok i can tell im not helping. But anyways, Anime gets you like that...... there not much to do to cure the animaniac desiese. I guess you can watch southpark more of what kids thesedays watch or watch another anime that nobody knows so u wont get made fun of.

Might be a problem, depending on how old you are. My son is 10 and constantly copies their moves, hand gestures and wears his headband. He also loves to watch the show, and plays their games on PS2 and DS. He goes to a duel club where he duels cards with kids in their teens who also wear the headbands and are really into it. Hopefully you are young enough that this is just a fad you will grow out of. My two adult friends dressed up like Naruto for Halloween this past year, but my husband and I were the only ones who knew what they were doing since our son has exposed us to it. It was kind of funny, the wife even had the big huge FAN made out of plywood and a sheet that was painted. I think you are fine as long as you don't alienate your friends and enjoy other things as well. This fad, like all others, will pass in a short while!

I would say that maybe you should lay off the Naruto for a while. I know it's your favourite show and everything but like you said, when you start to act like the characters that's a bit weird. I'm not saying give it up completely. Just take a break and read some books or somthing. Don't stick to another show like Naruto, though, try to vary your activities, TV shows, and book styles.

LOL! First thing, WOW you can right a lot! Although, I have a couple friends that do the same things, they wear the headbands and everything! Hey, nothing wrong loving your favorite anime! Just save all that enthusiasm for like anime conventions! Trust me, the way society is now, they will shun you! Although, make-up and Juicy obsessions aren't all that great either, ne? ;P But, I would suggest NOT to do that at school, and if you must do it with friends that understand, also save it for conventions and go all out then!

I don't know the game but I do know programming. If your exposing yourself to repeated images, sounds and embedded ideas you will internallise them.
If it was me I'd stop playing the game for 40 days, (they say that's how long it usually takes to break a habit) and decide what I'd like to re-programme for.
Intensity ususally makes programming stronger and harder to break.
I'd start making myself sit in the chair and focus on the teacher
All programming can be replaced, choose who and what you want to be

Well, I think that it's ok that you like Naruto. I mean, I have gotten into the habit of trying to perform Saskue's fire jutsu, I mean he is my favorite charecter... I have embarresed myself multiple times in class trying to do what charecters in Naruto do,but hey, its my personality, and perhaps yours, too. I may be only 12, be just try taking my advice, ok? Like, who cares what others think of you?
