i'm not sure i'm on the right track but u really made me think.
A long time ago, food was food - eat to live. Now people live to eat - therefore society is more greedy.
Food is a necessary thing to survive..... yet you have to pay for it! Sort of paying big corporations to live. If you don't have money to eat - you die! It's an ongoing vicious circle
sorry if this isn't what u meant, but ur quest still made me think.

I'm sorry, I don't think there was a time when food wasn't controlled, unless you mean back in the Garden of Eden.
Maybe you need to clarify your question? Are you talking about government regulations like the FDA?

YES! Man set foot into the forest to cut all the apple trees down. He then set hand to earth to sow the seeds on his own private land. To sell the apples back to the people... Sophisticated people have ruined the health of this planet!
