I did not find it boring. It may not be Dicken's very best work but I think it is quite good. One question to ask yourself here is if the novel is really so boring why has it maintained its appeal over the years to so many readers? One issue you do not address is your own age. I find that classic fiction seems to appeal to people more as they get older. If that is so and you find it boring now, try it again in 25 - 30 years. You may find it seems like a whole new work to you.

When someone says that A Tale of Two Cities is rather boring, they mean its really long (not in page number). Yet, you have to take inconsideration why the author made this book so long ( along with his other books). Mr. Dickens was paid to write his novels; like Great Expectations, he was paid by the amount of words he would write. So, it may seem really long and boring, but it really does have a good moral to it. So instead of following the sheep, why don't you give the book a try? Get past the first chapters, and if you really don't like it, then put it down. But don't toss it if the book is to long, toss it if you don't like the plot, which is really hard to believe because Charles Dickens is a very famous and eloquent author. :D
Also, other authors like Emily Dickinson wrote many long books as well, but America continues to praise both of these authors!
P.S. Read Great Expectations! Its awesome~

No it most definitely is NOT boring. Read the first sentence. It is the most famous first sentence in the history of literature. In one sentence, Charles Dickens tells you everything you are going to read. It is exciting and invigorating. It is a brilliantly told book and dont let anyone tell you it's boring. Read it. Only promise you wont read one of those Golden Book versions or the comic book version or the Cliff Notes Version - or ANY abridged version. Read Dickens in his own magnificent words. And think what an accomplishment you will have achieved when you are done and you can say "Tale of Two Cities? Yes, I have read it." Pax - C.

It's only as boring as you make it, or have a teacher who makes it a chore to read it. Then again, I read the thing in an honors English class in high school, so while the class was a little more difficult overall (or so they say), the teacher was a little more expansive with the book.

It was the best of reads, it was the worst of reads. Honestly, Dickens embodies the worst of British literary tradition: painstakingly describing some unimportant event in vast detail for pages upon pages. I had to read it for a class, I would never read it again.

it isn't boring
There are just so many symbols and little things that you need to pick up on that the book may be confusing and then you will not understand anything and THEN it seems boring
