Yes...people are stupid to not like or admit to liking music just becuse their "freinds" don't think it's cool. Same applies to everything really...
I like everything: metal, pop, newage, rap, electronica, and music from other counties, in fact there really isnt a genre I hate. And I like them for different reasons. It has a great dance beat, the message is powerful, it's fun, angry, it makes you think, or cry...etc. I used to thiink that catagorization was evil ...but all it is, is generalizing music styles. Most bands generally compose within a genre or two, but seldom do I see an artist/group cross over several multiple genres, and keep doing it or be successful at it.
The genre pop-rock really refers to the way a song is composed; verse chorus verse chorus, it has standard timing, is easy to remember..and so on. It has more to do with who's popular at the moment than anything. Britney Spears, for example has songs that fit into the pop genre as I described, plus it's "popular." Everyone I talk to says what a talentless trollop she is...but her records don't sell themselves. I don't know if you'll agree or not...but thats my veiw of the matter.

Me truthfully Like ALL Kind of music, my favorite is QUEEN, and with Freddie gone, still support the Queen + Paul Rodgers concert, seen them in Pittsburgh, PA and Cleveland, Oh, my mom and Grandmother came over on the boat from Italy, to Ellis Island, and got me hooked up on opera also, and when Freddie and Monsetta did a album, blew me away, but I feel all music is great, sad to say, even some rap! but it's all who the musician is and how they have there own style! I write Poetry/Songs, and trying to get a band to take it to all the way! But whether this answers your question or not, u have to love all kind of music, cuz it's a artist expressioning them self.....esp when they write there own songs!

I agree with you, but don't bother dumb people like that. They are just limiting themselves by only listening to certain types or genres of music.

You are right. I think people should listen to all kinds of music, not just rock or jazz but also LiL John & the east side BoyZ.
Especially the song 'let my nuts go'
