Your probably really small down there...I'm on the small side too. Try this...
Use your fingers and pull the lips of your vagina apart. Squat a little and then try inserting. Don't tense up don't there....stay relaxed. If that doesn't work. Try putting one leg on the tub. Also use regular tampons...you don't want it too big...can hurt getting out if it's dry.

Maybe this is a dumb answer but have you looked through the little leaflets they put in the boxes, they give a good visual and written instructions of different ways to try. What works for some doesn't for others. Personally, I always go with the hard way. Sometimes, if the vaginal canal is too dry it's not going anywhere and a little lubrication of KY or vaseline will help but just use a little on the tip. If you haven't had a pelvic/pap done yet it might be a good time to do this and to ask your doctor. They'll know whether or not there is a problem. There shouldn't normally be any reason you shouldn't be able to use a tampon. Try different types as well. Personally, I prefer the non-applicator type like OB but many women are uncomfortable with that. And, yes, relax. When you're already frustrated you're all the more likely to be tense and it will be more difficult. Maybe even consider practicing when you're not menstruating and see if it's easier for you. I wish you luck. It certainly must be troubling you. Take care.

Women will at first experience discomfort and difficulty when inserting a tampon inside. You may want to try a specific brand of tampon that slides in well. I hear that Tampax Pearl Plastic is a good brand. If you are experiencing more problems in using the tampon, you may want to speak with your gynecologist and consider using a dialator for easier placement.
I personally prefer pads, however, because they are much safer. Hope this helps and God bless.

Some peoples bodies just don't work with them also. Me and my mother both cannot use tampons of any sort because of discomfort problems. I dont no exactly why but i would suggest that if you are having issues maybe talk to your doctor and find out if theres anything physically that may be making it more uncomfortable or at least talk to them about it im sure they could help you.

From my experience, cardboard app's suck. They don't slide. Try the plastic ones. You have to know your body to use a tampon. Read the instructions to get the angle right.

Make sure you're placing it in the right hole and that you're aiming towards your lower back.
