When my friends talk about sex some how the topic of masturbation comes up and they all dey it .Why?

They are older than me about one year. Im 13 and they are 14. Only one of them admits it but sometimes I think he says that to joke around.

No one every admits it and they make it seem like a gross and pitiful thing to do but I know they do it but they dont admit it and neither do I because they make it sound like a bad thing to do.

I understand where you are coming from I wouldnt want to admit it any time soon

For people your age, masturbation is a sensitive topic. Your body is just maturing and you're still trying to figure it out, plus you are just beginning to notice girls in a sexual way. this does not mean you want sex all the time, but you're noticing girls your age or older have breasts, the way they look in their clothes, etc. This can cause feelings in you that, because of your lack of experience, you cannot identify.
Another thing is that masturbation, because of religious teachings and traditions, has a stigma that brands it as UNNATURAL or WRONG. The reasons for this date back to Biblical times, when "good" sex was simply meant for procreation, so a man could continue his bloodline and genealogy. Read the story of Onan, who was cursed because he "spilt his seed on the ground" instead of impregnating his wife. because of this religious need to continue the bloodlines, any sex other than vaginal with internal ejaculation resulting in pregnancy is considered "unnatural" by many religious and ethnic groups and sects. These thoughts and teachings carry over to the children of each generation, hence the need to look down on any act that does not make a baby.

Huh that's weird. My friends always talked about it. Well not always, but if it came up they wouldn't deny it, they would say that they did it. We don't really talk about it now, but i think we all know that one another does it, so it doesn't need to be voiced. I know how you feel though. I was at a camp last summer and it was me, my roommate, and one of our friends. We were just talking and one of them asked me if i masturbated or something like that (to put me in an awkward position), so i was like yeah i do. And they just started laughing and i was like w/e. It was kinda embarrassing at the time because they were laughing, but i know that they do it to so i don't care. I guess i would just tell you to go along with them. Although it seems weird to me that they would deny it, cause almost every guy does it, and where I'm from boys never really deny it.

Because we live in a society that trys to make people feel bad about sex and talking about masturbation is personal. And some guys think that if they like to play with themselves that it automatically makes them homosexual, which is totally untrue.

They might feel perverted by admitting to it in a public setting. I was whankin' my peter at age 11 and didnt feel ashamed, and don't feel ashamed now.

Masturbation, if not done in excess, is actually a healthy activity. It keeps you from getting blue balls, and may keep you from getting prostate cancer later in life. It also releases stress.

some brag about it; some keep quite. The cliche: When it comes to masturbating 99% of the guys deny and 1% are lying. Now there was one guy that said he did not do it and I put him in the 1% category. Come (no pun intended) to find out he had low testerone and really did not jack-off. Later he did contact his doctor and started getting testerone shots. Now well........ never mind.

Masturbation is a natural body process. We have to ejaculate to get the sperm out of our system. If we didn't do it, then our nuts would turn blue.
