and if there was life on a planet orbiting that planet, how long would it take scientist to send a raido wave to that planet and get a reply.

this is a science question for a assinment but it is a estamating question witch has no answer in the book.

A radio wave travels at the speed of light. A message to the planet would take four years getting there. If there was an immediate response, the reply would take four years coming back. Total time = 8 years.

Radio waves are light waves, so it would take a radio signal 4 years to reach the star. And the same on the way back.
