It does not hurt that much because they put novacaine in your mouth to numb it. Try to think of anything but the procedure when they are doing it and you should be fine. I would try listening to music on a MP3 player if I were you.

lol trust me when i say cavities dont hurt as bad as the after effects. ive had 4 root canals at 2, 9 teeth pulled, and so many cavities ive lost track. and this was before 13. (mom had toximia or someting like that when she was prego with me so it screwed up the enamal on my teeth) im so used to cavites ive gotten 4 drilled without novocane filled and went home all with just laughing gas and a tooth brush. trust me on this take some tylenol and go to sleep ull feel better bout 2 hours after dont eat anything hot (soup tea stuff like that until novocane weres off) eatting something cold helps too, but thats me. good luck

Don't worry, fillings don't hurt. I had it before and i barley notice anything. So don't worry too much, you won't feel anything. It will over in no time, but you might have to wait in the dentist office for a long time so be prepared to entertain yourself for a while. So don't worry at all.

I have had 2 cavaties and both filled. Don't worry it's completley painless. What helps is to bring a wash cloth and put it over your eyes so that you don't see anything. It is much more easier to do that.

I Think that laughing gas will put you to sleep so you would not feel a thing .

The doctor WILL numb it in some way, even if s/he doesn't use novocaine. Ask if you can bring in a CD of soothing music, and don't forget to BREATHE DEEPLY!!!

lol, fillings don't hurt at all. the pain you feel with your cavity hurts way more than the filling would.
