propaganda is as the first respondent says means to rally support [band wagoneering ] ; rallying support by untruths , egsadurations ,out and out lies ,mythology or real or delusioned , illusions or defections
about our side or thier side being better or worse because of up built lie or distortions or simply by evasion

discourage others supporting the proposed oppisition support /defense or corections of the lie /deceits
,shading the truth , even decrying others truths as well as subverting and bull-anting the truth not supportive of the pr spin
5 forms of propaganda can be on the personal ,amateur ,enthusiastic , fanatical , frantic ,and farcical levels
propaganda can be personally ridiculing of type race sex , origin ,trade ,occupation or even nationalistic inclination ,flag /uniform religion or beliefs orj ust suppression of balancing fact or over welming fictions
designed to set fear or resignation or
to rally support amoung the masss or mobsss or just the targetted mean ,neo messianic armogeddonists or the right neo cons
or much more rare the liberal left
