Subduction of the Mollucca Sea plate and the Philippine Sea plate. It's pretty normal stuff.

Everything in this world and what it's naturally made of is breaking down - including the fault lines. Nothing lasts for ever. Over time it will get worse and worse. That's nature for ya.

I think the rate of earthquake has not increased substantially. Only thing now we have perfect measuring methods. We are unable to improve our prediction methods.

I think mother nature is pissed off and getting back at us for messing up the only home we will ever have. We have all but destroyed the rain forests, not to mention our regular forests, polluted our air and oceans. All we have left to do is sit back and wait for it all to end. We have no one to blame for this but ourselves.
