I knew that. Thing is 'Hollywood' has been out of fresh ideas for about 2 decades now.
That's why all you see is some lame (supposedly) reality tv, where a bunch of spoiled LOSERS parade around as if their lives had meaning or purpose.

Oh my God !!!!!!! Yes it is !!!! I never thought of that before. It is a lot like it. I was only 12 when I saw Barefoot in the Park. I remember it well though. Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. Was it Mickey Rooney as that weird neighbor that lived up through the trap door? Anyway yes !!!!! LOL

By a stretch of one's imagination, I guess it could be considered an extremely loose adaptation of "Barefoot in the Park". Story plots aside, I'd much rather be watching Robert Redford and Jane Fonda!!!!

The only real similarities between the two are the fact that the husband is a lawyer and the wife a "free spirit". That's about it. Jane Fonda's mother was a very proper lady and her father was dead. We never found out anything about Robert Redford's folks.

What a great observation. I was watching Barefoot a few days ago and I can see the simalarities. I never would have put it together, but your question clarified it for me. Nice question!!!
