I'm black (although from Canada) and almost everyone in my family (and I have a big family) can swim. Maybe this is due to the fact that my family is from the Caribbean and generally spent much of their leisure time swimming. Either way, always question such overt generalizations, since they more often than not tend to be inaccurate.

Um false I would say... People are all different. Some people can swim, some can't. Doesn't matter much what kinda people they are. The percentages are the same acros the board, no matter what skill or knowledge you check for.

That came from the fact that the African race, on average, doesn't have as much body fat as caucasions. Muscle is heavier than fat, so it's harder for them to be bouyant. But I can't believe it could matter so much as to make a difference.

maybe because they have not learn i have seen blacks in cape Verde swim with the sharks and compete..to catch a quarter.. before hot the bottom..
