i have a excel file at work and if i want to email it i have to have internet explorer and i dont, i already have a couple of email addresses and dont want to get anymore

Why do you think you need I.E.?

No, you don't need IE. You probably need to zip it, because of security reasons. Email will not always accept files with certain extensions. I have not tried to email an Excel file before, but just try zipping it first and then try emailing it.
