I would check the manufacturers limits to weight restrictions rather than go by age.

I heard jolly jumpers are not good for infants spines. Try an activity saucer instead as long as the baby can hold their head up. Make sure they are not falling through the leg holes in the seat. a rolled up blanket placed behind them in the seat gives additional support. If its cost, I found one for my grandson at a second hand store for kids, it was like new.

When they can support their heads by themselves for long periods at a time.

ONLY when they can hold their heads up really good. They must have strong neck muscles, I'd say about 5 mo. but make sure they can hold up that head !!!

WHEN THEY CAN HOLD THEIR HEADS UP BY THEMSELVES, I WOULD JUST STUFF A SMALL BLANKET OR PILLOW AROUND THEM TO HOLD THEM ALITTLE STRAIGHTER, THEY LOVED IT
