I ordered a computer from a company and want to make sure they gave me all of the right parts. Should I compare the parts with a picture or is there something different and more accurate I can do?

Of course comparing the parts with pictures is the best way. However this may not be possible unless you scour the Internet to find the pictures you are looking for. This can be time consuming and quite frustrating.

I think the best way is to follow these steps:

Click, start button - all programs - accessories - system tools - System information.

The system information window will open.

The first Item on the left column is "System Summary". When you click "System Summary" two columns format page on the right will open. All items and their values included in your computer are listed here. Items are listed under "Items" Label and their values under "values" label.

What you have to do now is to pick up the specifications (the list of items installed in your computer) you received with your computer and compare it with the items as shown under the items and value labels

I hope this will help you find out whether you had received the right components you purchased.

you can run the "dxdiag" command in windows and it will pop up a window with information about your hardware..

Or go to device manager and check what you got in there..
