The government of France was first a monarchy and it was replaced by a semi-presidential government. There is an executive, judicial and executive branch. The President has the direct executive power and his appointee, the Prime Minister has exercises most of the executive powers. The legislature is the National Assembly which can revoke the appointment of the Prime Minister.

The US government is a republican democracy also with executive, judicial and legistive branches. The head of state is the President. The legislature if composed of a Senate and House of Representatives.
