I have to have to write a paper about a person who is heroic and underwent a "crucible situation" where they made a right or morally correct choice. This person can be from literature or from real life, but i am having trouble finding a person. Im kinda confused about what a "crucible situation" would be and what people in history or from literature has undergone such a situation. Any ideas? thanks

Watch Mel Gibson's BRAVEHEART. Both William Wallace and Robert the Bruce went through "crucible situations."

If a crucible is a situation in which energies pool together, and change is made, b/c of a very difficult predicament/situation,
then I would say Rosa Parks comes close, but not quite- the distinction,I think, is that she CHOSE to put herself in this position.
Think about it-
here's a black woman, insisting on sitting in the front of the bus.
In the South. Coulda been killed!
And the whole world has been changed by her choice.
But, no one put her on the spot like that.
That's why the above person referenced Braveheart, I guess, who id not choose to be Scottish under British rule, but certainly led his people in a time of dire need.

I suggest Arjuna - the warrior at the heart of the Battle of Kurukshetra as described in the Bhagavad Gita. His #1 morally correct choice was to choose Krishna as his adviser. #2 was to fight his relatives when he didn't want to, after being persuaded by Krishna that he owed it to the people of the disputed kingdom.

For a powerful commentary and spiritual interpretation of this ancient epic, see the book "God talks with Arjuna" by Yogananda, especially volume 1 the introduction and the commentary on the first verse.
