* "Romeo and Juliet" is NOT a novel nor a short story. Going by the definition given on this website [
it isn't escapist either because it does more than just provide pleasure--it also helps the reader look into the deeper motivations and deceptions that humans embrace about the world. This means that this story is interpretative literature because it shows us that the idea of a "perfect love" still has its flaws because instead of making Romeo and Juliet happy, it makes them miserable instead and ultimately leads to their deaths
