Could taking probiotics interact with my birth control pills? I took acidophillus and now my period had become verrry long! Almost 9 days.

what interupts the b/c?

Its unlikely that probiotics caused your prolonged bleeding but as advised above check with your pharmacist or doctor. If you are on a low dose Birth Control Pill and you took one or more pills more than 8 hours late or forgot one this could be the reason you are having prolonged bleeding. Also if you are under a lot of stress this could cause you to bleed longer. You didn't say how long you have been taking this BCP. If this happened during the first 3 months of starting the BCP then it is normal. Give your body another month or two to adjust. If you have been on the BCP for awhile you may need another brand of pills with a slightly different combination of hormones. Talk with your doctor or clinic.

i know that antibiotics cancel out your birth control so its like youre not using them. but i dont think probiotics have an effect. call your doctor.
