I read the book so very long ago. In this day, though, because the father would fear his daughter being abused and would soon die after him because of her ability to care for herself.

Fear. He is afraid to abandon his daughter, though she doesn't understand, the thought of leaving her alone without anyone to take care of her is just to much.

If there is no one else who could care and unconditionally love her, I can't blame him for wanting to kill her knowing he's going to die soon. The saddest thing in the world is being alone and helpless.

I don't know the story, but he will kill her thinking that she will be left alone (exactly what you said). Now, this may not be true, but he believes it's his only choice. In my opinion it's selfish to take somones' life because you love them soooo dearly:(

I don't know the story, but my guess is he can only see her alone surrounded in infinite negativity. The Will is positive and the Judgment is negative, but the negation for the negation needs the Judgment for its identification.

out of love actually.
knowing that in the reality of this world the daughter will starve to death with nobody to look after her when he's gone, or of her being just another patient nobody cares about, he chooses not to subject her to that.

cuz he's a bit nuts. who is he to decide her life regardless of her unableness to choose. i'm sorry but that's just murder wether it has supposed good reasons. if he was a good dad he'd do his best to find another loving caretaker

he feels that he cant stnd knowing hes going to be dead and his daughtr will be alone, with no care and may be ridiculed. he might think that he can take care of her just as well in heaven (if it exists to him)

my answer could be stupid at a first glance...I think the father hides the fear of unknown behind his care.

this fathers desperate act is an attempt to keep her with him because he believes no one will care for her once he has passed
