she won't be in the hospital for that....instead she will be in a clinic for about 3 to 4+ hours
she will be given a ultrasound, medication, or shot~ then the fetus will be removed by suction ~ then she will be watched for any problems and then sent home....she will also be given a prescription for antibiotics and pain meds...then she will have to go back for a check up and ultrasound to make sure the procedure took...if not the entire thing will be repeated

Well, depending on where she lives, she might go into a hospital and not a clinic. That's what I did. It was done in the OR and I was admitted as a day surgery patient.

The process worked like this in Canada, I had to see my doctor for a pregnancy test and then get a referral to get the abortion done at the hospital. I then had to get an appointment to get an ultrasound done prior to the abortion to both confirm the pregnancy as well as see how pregnant I was and then talk with the doctor about my options and tell him I was sure of my choice and he told me about the minor risks involved and basically how full term pregnancy is much more dangerous just so I wouldn't be afraid in case I fell for any of that pro-life crap.

Then they did some blood tests and I went to the OR where they put me to sleep and I woke up with minor cramps and I was a big groggy. I stayed in the post-op recovery for awhile and then about an hour or so later the nurse said I could go. Then I went out for dinner.

They gave me some T3's for the pain, but I didn't actually need them. It was nothing worse than a heavy period.

So, it's in and out in one day and recovery should be quick. It's weird that she's telling everyone, but some people just need attention. I wouldn't hold it against her.

you will not have a hospital stay when having an abortion. More than likely she is lying especially is she is announcing the cruel intention she has and bragging about it to everyone. But if she isn't lying then she is more than likely going to a clinic seeing as how is she were doing it with a doctor at a doctor's office or at the hospital (never heard of a hospital performing an abortion though) they will not admit her unless she has parental consent. If she is 13 or older and goes to a clinic such as planned parenthood then she can have an abortion without her parents knowing. sad, but true. Look it up if you don't believe me. Planned parenthood is an unethical place. The process will take up to two hours. They will inject her with medicine to help her either fall asleep or num her body. depending on how far she is. If she is in her 12th week or farther - they will inject her with seaweed to stop the babys heartbeat then shrink the baby down. So they can go in and vacuum her out tearing the baby apart. then once she is vacuumed out, they will scrape the inside of her uterus to complete the "eliminating placenta" procedure so no infection occurs in her body. this is pretty graphic but true details. Be sure she knows what she is doing and all the details. its sad. But it happens.

It is an out patient procedure w/ little recovery time unless there are complications, like an embolism. Do not give her any grief,do not doubt her, just keep your mouth shut. It can be very emotionally painful. Ask her if she needs a friend to go w/ her. No one should go thru it alone. L
