I have a Holley 650 double pumper and a Holley 600 vaccuum secondary type. Which would work best? This will be installed with an automatic tranny. I have a 289 manifold (cast iron). Will the stock fuel pump have the stones to supply these carbs?
Thanks Guys!

the 600 vacuum will be plenty , double pumpers are overkill for a stock motor and will give you too many problems , try to get a dual plane manifold down the road , your stock pump will be fine

I vote for the vacuum powered secondary Holley. The double pumper will drown the little 302 every time you stand on the gas particularly with an automatic trans. You can change the secondary vacuum canister's spring for a stiffer one if you want the secondaries to open sooner. Holley offers 8 - 10 different springs. Have fun with your vacuum secondary 650.

You'd be much better off with a vacuum secondary 580 or 600 tops. The 580 was used on the 1965 - 1966 Chevy 350 hp. 327 motor in Chevelles and Chevy 2's. Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins went in the low 11's with the little L -79 Chevy two. He held the national record running against 426 Street Hemi's.
