I'll be nice to you and it's pleasant to see a young girl concerned about her country (and for the rest of the world for that matter). One thing we all agree as your said. Bush has done everything he possibly could....to damage US image around the globe. This time I would stay on your mother's side. More important than deciding whether to be a democrat or republican is to think according to your beliefs. If you feel something is wrong or illegitimate, you should be the one responsible to accept it or fight against it. Be happy.

If you speak out about the way the President has run this country into the ground you are called a liberal who doesn't believe in God and you are un educated, and not a patriotic person.

I don't agree with the way that our President has spent his time in office, I feel in anyway that he has kept any of his "promises" from his campaign and our economy is in a state of failure.

Of course there are those who say that the economy is just fine, but they are well above the poverty level. But to them I would be considered un educated and living on welfare just because my financial situation is poverty.
And to the Person who said that if we had of supported him after 9/11 for the 3000 people that where murdered during the terrorist attacks , We did democrats and Republicans alike, but look on your map Afghanistan is a few Miles from Iraq and Osama Bin Laden is still free even though Saddam Hussein has been executed. We where all for the president finding and putting Osama Bin Laden on trial has that happened.
Follow your own convictions when it comes to deciding what political party you want to be affiliated with and don't let a democrat tell you you are wrong to be republican or a republican tell you you are wrong for being democrat. Who is to say which party would be right for you after all it is just more opinions.

You have received many diverse answers. Read them all carefully. Then ask yourself, why is Bush so unpopular?
The same man who had the world at his feet post 9/11. The whole world was behind him, but through bad advice, lack of good judgement, stubbornness, he wasted all that goodwill. I think every sane person on this earth wants a good result in Iraq, but President Bush went into a WAR, without a plan or a vision of what exactly had to be done.
There were no WMDs, Saddam was toppled, (which was a good thing) and then? The USA should have declared 'Mission Accomplished' and pulled out, but Bush then had to insist on 'enforcing Democracy'. What was he thinking? That Iraq's neighbours, (none of them 'democratic') would allow that to happen?
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
After having said all this, as a Liberal, I don't think George Bush is an evil man, he is just way out of his depth.
Also, ask yourself why your Mom is a Democrat. Wise woman!

As hard as it is for you to believe at your age but your mom is wise. Ask her why she is a Democrat. Check for yourslf, not just on YA. It is not so much what Bush has done for this nation but what he has done to the nation we should be concerned with. We are over due for a change.

I am pleased that you have taken an interest in politics at your age. I was too at your age. I had to wait until I was 21 to vote you won't have as long. Just keep informed from a variety of sources. Listen to what the candidates say. Pay no attention to the ads for candidates or the issues. Go to the website of League of Women Voters, Fact check where you will get more fair and balanced ideas than any news source or friends, candidates, etc. Check out candidate web sites. The vote for which ever candidate whose beliefs come closest to your own.

Well fellow, it would be nice if all the people had backed
this president to go after those who murdered 3000
people in New York. If he had had the backing of the
American people, this war might have been over by now.
This is not the first war America has been in, tho Democrats
seem to act like it is. Why shouldn't we help those Iraq
people who were brutalized by their leader Saddam
Hussein? We got rid of him, but the people need help
now so that the terrorist don't move in and do the same
thing to them. What did they do? They murdered whole
families and threw them into deep pits together, they
cut off their heads, their hands, and the people had no
freedoms or fun like you and I have here in America.
I think it is right for us to help them, so maybe they too
can have some fun in life instead of worrying every day
might be the day they will be murdered. Only volunteers
are fighting for them. No one has to go to Iraq that doesn't
want to......isn't that fair?

We need a President and a Congress who can clean up the mess. Take note that even though the Democrats voted to approve the use of military action in Iraq they started to badmouth the President, the plan and the military from the minute that vote was passed.

The current president can clean up this war if the congress would let him. Being 15 you probably do not realize that in order to win a war, you have to be committed to follow it through to the end.

We left Vietnam prematurely and it was over run by the North (the enemy)

Korea ended in a seize fire, the north and south are still separate countries (and still the most heavily armed border in the world - with US troops)

WWII we won and still have troops in the area (hostile environment for many years after the war)

Do your self a favor and base your political views on what you believe, not what you read on this site.

We have a President who is trying to help both and is getting a lot of resistance, all because democrats want their power back. If the democrats are showing us their definition of support,, my opinion is no thanks and I'm sure the people of Iraq won't be so thrilled about it either.

It is time for a president that is willing to defend America and her interests regardless of the price he pays in popularity. Leaders should lead not follow polls.

It is also time for all Americans to stick together and defeat this enemy so we can get back to arguing about less important things.
