I doubt it's a hoax. Retailers are taking this very seriously. I hauled a bunch of pet food down to my supermarket, and I had some pet food replaced free of charge because it was highly questionable. But the staff there was very helpful and concerned.
The only thing that really upset me that the news programs have become such useless tripe about Britney Spears and Anna Nicole Smith, I completely missed the story until yesterday. Let's get back to actual news than constant entertainment media hype!

Yes, you are getting the truth. if you fed these foods to your pet, you're feeding them GARBAGE.
