This is a highly politicial question, and I don't want your opinion, I want facts. Do not render an un-supported opinion. Drug companies in the US are awarded patents for producing new drugs. Patents are little time-limited monoplies, allowing those companies to charge high prices. But in this age of the internet, over-seas drug companies (in Canada) are making "generics" of those new drugs. When I asked my doctor about it, he called them "counterfit" and discouraged my buying them. Yet I'm highly suspicous. I have strong doubts that our friends in India specifically, have done anything less than simply doing a chemical analysis of the drug, copy it 100%, and produce it in a quality that is at least the quality of the US producer. They can do this because they don't need to worry about US patents.

If you could assure yourself that you were getting a drug approved in a regulated country, like canada, by going over the border and buying it yourself, then I would go for it. However, the reality is, that when you buy form the internet, even it says it is a Canadian pharmacy, it may not be. It may not even be a drug company, but someone out to make a fast buck. There have been studies that have shown that some "Canadian" versions of some drugs don't even have the ingredient in them - these are drugs bought over the internet, not ones bought at a face to face pharmacy in Canada. Also, as has been pointed out, you don't know where these drugs are being made. A legitimate company isn't going to be involved in internet sales to the US - there are too many risks. So, even the Indian company that you say may be analyzing it, probably isn't. There are plenty of Indian companies (Ranbaxy, Dr. Reddy's, cipla, etc.) that are going through the legitimate route to market their drugs here - they aren't going to risk bringing it in fraudulently.
