Under the Patriot act, Bush could seize your computer, and lock you up indefinitely without trial based on any anti-Bush statements you make here.

Does this worry you as much as it worries me?

Yes, it does worry me. I've even talked to my kids about what they should do if I mysteriously disappear.

You are a little paranoid. Much of the measures in the Patriot Act have been used by the government for decades already. The Patriot Act simply tweaked a few things, one of which was to address new methods of communication along with a few other things. This isn't a great new power for the government.

Also, you must know that all administrations need tools to help protect the United States against foreign enemies. This will always be the case regardless of if you like the President, his administration or the Congress. Also, remember the Congress in most respects has more power over your life than the President. They make the laws, allocate funds, raise/lower taxes, etc. Sure, the President can push an agenda and command the military but the separation of powers prevents any one branch from ruling everything.

With the media having an overwhelming liberal bias and being made up of mostly Democrat followers, have you heard of Americans being rounded up?

The government needs to protect us. At any given time there are numerous threats to our country. If your dead then nothing else really matters. Sit down and think about things. Think about the reality of the world and what our government has to do to keep us safe. Life isn't perfect, people aren't perfect and therefore no government can ever be perfect but that doesn't mean we don't give our government reasonable tools to keep us safe. Congress has oversight and if you have any issues you should take it up with them. The reason you don't hear too much from Congress is because they know the Patriot Act is fine. The only time they bring it up is for political reasons and not because they truly think it is a problem.

as long as you dont threaten the president directly or any of his family with bodily harm .dont worry about it
this is a free country
one of our rights as freeborn americans is the right to freedom of speach
we have a right to voice our opinion on Mr Bush and his policys as long as we do it in a way that befits the nature of politics debates and options we have under the constitution
who owns the internet WE DO
who paid for the internet WE DID
who invented the internet?
NOT AL GORE he is a politician but he was instrumental in getting funding to have the internet put in place. People we can pull the plug on this internet at anytime we please on ANYBODY we please at ANYTIME.
so unless you have threatened the president physically then nothing can be done to have yer stuff seized. however he can sue you for defamation if he wants to
you say something that he thinks he can go after you for on a personal basis then you might just be fresh meat.

As many socialists, I mean, American citizens that have waived signs outside the Presidents home with statements like Bush = Hitler and many more (we all know the signs got worse than that) and nobody was rounded up for their first amendment rights being utilized.

That's not true. Threatening the Presidents life will get you locked up not saying anything that is anti-Bush. Quote the section of the Act that says it. Where do you people come up with this stuff?

NO. I pretty much feel safe from some random agent coming in my house, raping my wife, taking my computer, beating my kids and taking me to prison for some unknown reason.

Could you provide an example of this happening?

No, You would have a trial. Hell, as long you dont threaten an attack on a particular person or the USA in general, you shouldnt have to worry. Dont plan a terrorist attack, and you'll be fine.

Although I do not like Bush, I usually don't say anything to offend the Republican party. When i do, no, I am not scared.. it is a opinion, it is not like I am threatening to kill him
