Tell your daughter that moved to another town not to come home every weekend to do her laundry. LOL
Seriously, place a brick in your toilet tank. Do a full load of clothes in the washer. A double basin kitchen sink is best, one side dishwater, other side rinse. I was at someone's house once, that they left the water running done the drain on rinse side the whole time they did the dishes.

there are many ways to reduce the water usage in any residence. A big savings is the toilett if it is yellow dont flush if its brown flush it away. Another good saving is when you are brushing your teeth do not let the water run. sweep off the driveway instead of washing it off, when it comes to watering anything in the yard get a drip sprinkler system installed that is on a timer, water early in the morning and later in the evening. Take 5 minute showers and if it is an option take a shower with your spouse instead having 2 showers, Another way depending on where you live is to recycle your shower water and laundry water by installing a grey box and use the water to water gardens ect outside, only do full loads of washing, Keep a jug of water in the fridge, instead of having to run the water to get cold water everytime you want a glass of water. Im not sure about this one but i suspect that doing dishes by hand would use less water then a dishwasher.
If everyhoushold took these simple steps we could save a whole pile of water. but if your asking how do we save our water from all the pollutants that man excretes from its daily going abouts is a different ball game.

My Dad introduced me as much as take a bath with approximately 3 gallons of water or much less. that's a controversy of wetting down, close it off, cleansing soap down and rinse. we've a good low quantity rest room. while brushing our enamel the water would not run. while washing palms the water is decrease decrease back to a pair of million/4. i'm fifty one so i've got saved alot of water.

Don't take showers more often than necessary. That is, unless you do a lot of physical labor. Otherwise, it's not really needed and saves a lot of water. I guess that sounds gross, but it works.

Re-use as much as possible. Run your washing machine discharge out to the garden.
Don't grow turf grass.
Let the rain wash your car.
