got pulled over & searched for drugs and was arrested but they tested what they found and there was no drugs lawyer cost me around $5000.00

If they had probable cause to search your vehicle and found drug paraphanalia then the cops were in the right to arrest you here. You can't sue the state for lawyer's fees if you are found innocent or charges dropped otherwise every person found innocent in a criminal trial would sue the state. There's nothing that said you had to hire a lawyer, one could have been provided for free. I mean there's nothing that says you can't try to sue, but I can tell you that the judge that gets the case is gonna drop it like a hot potato. People wrongly imprisoned for years can succesfully sue the state, but their losses are much greater than attorney's fees. Count your losses and move on.

no you cannot sue..well you can but you will waste your time and lose more money if you hire another lawyer, did you let them search you, what did they find that they tested for drugs?was it paraphernalia, they had the right

You can always sue ,
The lawyer loves it because he makes $5K . . .
You'd be out that because the odds of winning are better in the mega lottery .
People have sued the state that were injured when state vehicles slammed their cars years ago AND
They are still waiting . . . nada !
