This Sunday, i was picking up some batteries from under the bed on the floor. When I got up, however my left kneebone twisted and dislocated out of my socket and was dislocated for 30 seconds. Although I was able to pop my knee back in place, It was very painful and I remember screaming from the top of my lungs and lying on the floor in agony. Can walk on it fine but my limbs still hurt. I want to know how I can prevent this from happen again. Can you help? I'm only 20, why am I going through this!

My wife did this when she was sixteen. It kept happening, 3 or 4 times. Agony! She finally went to an orthopedic surgeon who didn't think surgery was necessary, but he gave her exercises to strengthen the muscles above and below the knee to keep the kneecap in place. See a doctor to make sure you didn't really injure anything and ask about exercises. My wife is 41 now and it hasn't happened since she was a teen, but she still does her exercises faithfully.
