What do you guys think? I think you do. I remember seeing this girl at a party in my dream and she was wearing a red shirt. This is the only time I can remember seeing a color in my dreams.

According to what my professor taught in Intro to Psych. No one really knows, most don't remember, but according to you guys, you do dream in color. Very odd. I just can't remember any specific dreams where it was all color.

Most dreams are in color, although people may not be aware of it, either because they have difficulty remembering their dreams or because color is such a natural part of visual experience. People who are very aware of color while awake probably notice color more often in their dreams.

The "glitch" is that most people aren't that much in touch with their dreams to know one way or the other. Some people "assume" their dream was in colour, because, after all, what else is there?? Yet, in dream research, I've discovered something I want to pursue even further. There appears to be great significance between dreams in colour, or black & white. (Many people have both.) Black & white "can" represent a stronger focus on the metaphor, or the emotions. Black & white "filters" out the visual senses. That is not to say that dreams in colour are necessarily less "strong." I like to compare it to movies. When there is no colour, the tendency is more to focus on the content. (Take away one sense, & others are heightened....) I dream in both, & have found a very intriguing pattern over many years. &, as you said in the "red shirt"--you KNOW you saw colour. Great question! I think I must give you a star!

So funny you ask this Q. I read recently that you only dream in black and white, but I have always dreamed in vivid color. I thought maybe I was just a little different, but it is good to know that I am not the only one!!!!!!!

Yes, I do. I also "feel" things. For example, if someone hits me then, when I wake up, I am sometimes still sore there. I have awakened remembering the feel of a certain texture in the dream, like when I dreamed I was stroking my dog and I could feel the fur.

It totally depends... Sometimes I dream in color, sometimes b&w, sometimes only some things are in color.... Once I had a dream that I knew to be all in color, except that the things I saw of it were in shadows so it was all grayscale almost.

Yes. Sometimes in color, sometimes not. If only one item in a dream is in color is supposed to be significant.

Yes, I dream in color. Shadows too. I've had dreams where I only see black shadows with normal color eyes...

depends. probably 90-95% of the time in color... i've had GREAT b/w ones, though too. i only dreamed in sepia tones once.

wouldn't it be cool to have a dream where everything was in various shades of the same color?
