the amount of broth needed is 1 3/4 cups. This is because 3/4 is 75% of the whole and 75% of 2 1/3 cup is 1 3/4. You use a scientific calculator and you do (0.75 * 2 1/3)

3/4 of 2 1/3

3/4 X 2 1/3

Change 2 1/3 into an improper fraction. 7/3. Multiply across. 3/4 and 7/3. 7 X 3 = 21 and 4X3=12. 21/12. Change it into a mixed number. 12 goes into 21 one time with 9 left over. 1 9/12. Then reduce. 9 divided by 3 = 3. 12 divided by 3=4.

1 3/4 is your answer.

Here, watch. The first step is to convert 2 and 1/3 into an improper fraction- 7/3. Now multiply 7/3*3/4= 21/12. We need to first use equivalent fractions. Since 21 and 12 both divide by 3, we divide by 3. We get 7/4. Now convert this back to a mixed number and you get 1 3/4. Need any more help? IM me!

7/3 x 3/4
the trees cancel out

Look. Convert 2&1/3 into 7/3 (thats an improper fraction. you do that just so you can multiply it by 3/4) .

Now you need to multiply 3/4 with 7/3.

Then reduce the fraction. (you can use 3 becuase 21 and 12 both divide by that number). you should get 7/3.

Just convert that into a mixed number and you get your answer of 1 &3/4.

Okay well laterz.........

2 and 1/3 = 7/3

now u want 3/4...or 75% of 7/3
an easy way to do it is to divide by 4 and multiply by 3
best way to figure out what to multiply by and what to divide by is figure out if ur increasing the amount or decreasing

In this case, ur decreasing the amount so u should divide by the bigger number, which is 4

7/3 / 4
= 7/12
7/12 x 3
=7/4

so the chef needs 7/4 cups of broth...
or 1 and 3/4 cups

2 1/3 = 7/3 (I just did this because it keeps me from getting confused)

7/3 x 0.75( the fractional form of how much he's making) = 1.75

so, 1 3/4 cups of broth
