1,000,000 isn't too much in today's world. I think I'd get a house, a car, and pay off my college...then invest the rest so it would make money for me.

pay off my mortgage fix up my house or move not sure yet, put my teens through school, buy a car or two, probably vacation with my hubby, buy all new furnishings (professionally decorate)
quit my job and semi retire, then use the rest for our retirement
help out my not-for-prophet school, help out my church
can you tell I've been thinking of this?

Go to a money management person, make interest on it, give some money as gifts to family and friends and charities. Buy modest homes here and somewhere in Europe and TRAVEL TRAVEL TRAVEL

I would seperate it into catagories and percentages:
My family- 30%
Investing- 20%
Charity- 10%
House/Car/Things- 30%
Michellenious- 10%

pay off hubby's student loan, buy my mother a new car, save money for the kids college education and invest the rest.

I'd buy a nice house, fix up the one I got, set up trust funds for my kiddo's and go shopping.

It takes $ to make $. I would invest it. Buy property and build or resale.
